Summer is over but it doesn't matter! Bold colours all round!

It rained today. Not autumn-ry weather at all. Praise God I was wearing boots when I went shopping today. My jacket smells like wet sheep! Anyhoo wanted to share today's haulage. It involves one of my two favorite highstreet brands...yeah you guessed it: Sleek and Barry M.

So I picked up:-
Sleek Sunset palette [permanent]
Sleek Pout polish in Chocolate Kiss
Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Mulberry
Barry M blush in Raspberry [Both a lot brighter in real life]
Barry M blush in Apricot

This palette is being rolled out at the moment with the new Sleek stands in some Superdrugs. So I suspect we will all get it at random times. But Sleek has said that it will be a permanent palette.

First impressions of the Sleek Sunset palette are good. I feel like Sleek might have changed the formula of these eyeshadows a little bit. They all feel a tad bit creamier. And that orange colour in there isn't like the one in Jewels palette that comes out as a horrid non-pigmented glittery mess. It actually looks like it could work very well indeed. Would have loved to have done a FOTD for y'all today but I just did not get the time. Very soon though.

The red eyeshadow in this palette I suspect will be the star of the show. It is gorgeous. I am trying to think if I have anything like it and at this present time my mind draws a blank however I do think I might find something in my stash somewhere.....I shall continue on blissfully ignorant!

The Pout polish is the pleasant surprise for me. I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting much but its turned out to be pretty awesome! It smells cocoa buttery and it goes on very smoothly. I've used it all evening and I think I'm going to have to get more.

Y'all know that my favorite lipstick by far is Sleeks Amethyst. However this new Sleek Mulberry lipstick is hot. A total killer for autumn and its cheap too. I thought it might be a good dupe for Night Violet from Style Black but this actually darker than that and has more of a brown tint to it that Night Violet. Swatches for you!!!

Eh now about these Barry M blushes. Hand on my heart I thought they were going to be a waste of my time. I have to confess I am *initially* rather impressed ! Better review to follow. On the left is the Apricot one and on the right is Raspberry. I quite like the orange blush. There's something understated but very glowy about it. And the red one...well if I'm going for the flushed cheeks look this is it!

And that is all for now lovelies. I owe you guys a proper FOTD sometime soon. I know. I've been slacking. But I'll be wearing falsies in my next one just for you!!!

Nice buys. I'm not bowled over by the look of the Sunset palette. I checked for it today but it's not in my local SD yet. I may even skip it ..*shrugs*. We'll see. I want the Graphite one. They should have saved Sunset for Spring 2010.

The Sleek lippie looks nice, The testers always look too disgusting to even swatch on my hand so I just avoid them - lol

That Barry M Apricot..is it matte? I didn't look at them today, totally forgot.

Great post, I too am not feeling the Sunset palette... it all looks a bit too warm for me. I want a gorgeous winter one of jewelled purples and frosty silvery greys. Not bothered by the Graphite one either.

I am definitely getting one of those BarryM blushes.. probably the dolly pink one. Ooh you've reignited my need for BarryM. Why aren't Superdrug 24hrs *grr*

Lipglossiping

Count yourself lucky you don't look like a wet poodle! My hair curled up really badly today after a little misting of rain :(

The palette doesn't look as exciting as the rest and the colours are more summery..however, I think Sleek have a hard job because there are so many colours in one palette that it's not easy coming up with palette after palette of original colours.

I'm lusting both palettes but Graphite grabs my attention more because greys suit me.

I saw the Sunset palette when I was buying my pout polish (got it in Pink Cadillac, and it looks awesome!), but it was sold out already. Only the tester was left. I thought it was weird that they had those colors for winter, but I support that decision as every other company is releasing their "style black" replicas and it gets sooooo depressing with all those dark colors!!!

Great buys!
Oh by the way, I found the Book of Shadows II at Boots in Piccadilly Circus...Bought it riiiight on! ahah I love it!!!
