'Ello, Ello!

How you doing? Me? I'm good. A little tired but good none the less. Hows your monday been?

I've been lazy make-up wise of late. I suspect it is cause I've been so busy doing other people's faces that I can't be botherd with mine. Not a good enough excuse I know but hey such is life.

SO! Sleek Safari palette. I struggled a bit with this one. Only because I didn't know what to do with it. Everyone was saying "oooohhh that green on the bottom row is lovely. Looks like MAC's Newly Minted...can't wait to play with it. " I could not, for the life of me, think of how I was going to use the colour, along with the other colours in the palette. Random I know. So whilst I was excited to have it in my possession, I experienced severe "Make-up artist block". Then today whilst I was home alone, I started playing and decided to see where I would end up. This is what I came up with...

I'm quite happy with the result. I'd been meaning to do another cut crease for a while. [Took me forever to figure out where to cut mine but I think I just about have it now!] This palette allowed me to work with an interesting colour story which I think works really well for sisters of colour. Happy days!

I used the matte black eyeshadow to cut the crease and then blended in the beloved matte green eyeshadow into the crease as well. My highlight was [believe it or not] the matte bright orange in the top row next to the black. Worked out really well.

I have a new favorite inner eye highlighter. The shimmery gold eyeshadow in the bottom row, 2nd from the right is AMAZING! Seriously I almost did my whole lid colour with it! Gorgeous! It made me look so awake its unreal. At least thats what it looked like to me in real life :)
The next colour was the shimmery yellow top right hand corner, followed by the rustic red next to it then the outter lid covered with the sexy maroon colour in the bottom row, right hand side.

I made it a point to use only the Safari palette and it totally works. I'm thinking I might like it as much as my Acid palette. Who would have thought?!

I purposefully kept the rest of my face nude. The eyes were dramatic enough. I used the Sleek Face and Body highlighter in Gold Digga. Not too sure how I feel about this yet. Ask me again in a few weeks time. On my lips I'm wearing Stargazer Fantasy Lipgloss in Kiwi. Swexy colour. I must get another one. It's fast becoming a favorite!

And that, ladies and gents, is the Safari Palette. Its a palette that is TOTALLY women of colour friendly. Even better for our caramel and vanila sisters. Sleek did very well with this palette once again.
