uMakoti.

uMakoti:- a zulu term that means young Bride; newly married woman.

This lady was definitely a lovely Makoti. Ladies I present to you my lovely friend Catherine. She got married last december to a lovely Scot and her dress was gorgeous. Custom made fabulousness!

Makoti was very happy on her day. Very relaxed and a natural in front of the camera.

She has this lovely thick hair which she styled herself! She wanted to keep her look as natual as possible and keep her freckles showing through which I thought was totally fabulous!

I'll be honest I do not remember everything we used but I do know that we did use a Berry coloured lipstick. I suspect her blush was Myfacecosmetics and her eyeshadow was a combination of Barry M gold and dark brown somewhere. Her eyeliner was GOSH dark brown which did not move! Praise God! The rest? I forget. Forgive me!

A Wedding Trial for a Pretty Bride.

Hi Lovlies,

I didn't realise until the other day that I have not updated this here blog of mine for a while. I think I went through a burn out these last two weeks and I'm only just coming out of it now! I've been busy with work and weddings and just trying to get my life back in order. Not exactly sure where it all went kaput but yes I think I'm back to regular programming!

So wedding season is coming to an end. Kinda. Sorta. There just won't be as many wedding through winter as they are in summer. I was busy with a few this year and I wanted to share the trial pictures of a particularly lovely bride I did last weekend. This lovely young lady is a stunner. Her dress was GORGEOUS, everything about her individual style just left such an impression with me. I wanted to show you her trial pictures. I'm making arrangements to get a hold of some professional pictures soon.

She wanted to look like "a more glamourous version of her natural self". I think we achieved that goal and I, for one, was happy with the outcome. Now I know someone is going to want to know what I used on her....I confess I can't remember it all but but I'll do my best to remember!

Well I've been sitting here trying to find a place where I could do a make-up swap. However all the ones I found were already closed. They are like secret underground sects or something!!! If there is one running somewhere that I've missed please please please drop me a line.

Anyhoo a couple days ago I was in Super [make-up] Drug and picked up 3 GOSH items:-

Effect Powder in Holographic Silver £5.39
Effect Powder in Plummy F£ee :) [Buy 3 for 2]

I bought the GOSH Lipglaze because it is a pretty good dupe for MAC Dazzleglass Funtabulous. It's just a little less pigmented but pretty much gives you the same effect. Feels lush on the lips, none sticky and last for a good while.

I have some random crazy idea in my head for the Holographic glitter. If I can pull it off then it was so worth the purchase and as for Plummy, its just a lovely colour to get for free!

Side note *My lips on Macro mode are just huge :p*

Sleek Acid Palette: Pink Acid FOTD

I know these pictures were supposed to be up ages ago, but Zuccherro kidnapped and took me to see Transformers 2!!! I couldn't resist but here I am dying to show you guys this palette!!! When I first got my Ben Nye Lumiere palette that was bright. It still is but this palette is stupid electric light bulb bright!

Then when you play with it....this is what it looks like :D

I put this eyeshadow on over a GOSH White Kohl eyeliner pencil at 0800hrs this morning. It's 0047hrs and there is very little creasing. Bob's your uncle mate! No joke!!!These pictures were taken at 1900hrs today. Better believe it!

I'll admit my foundation and all that lot were faded by the time I got home from work but a little touch up of the gloss made me look all pretty again!

What I used:

Sleek ACID palette: Hot pink [matte]
Sleek ACID palette: Dark purple [matte]
Sleek ACID palette: Black [matte]
Sleek STORM palette: Light Brown [matte]
GOSH Lipgloss in 0080
La Femme blush in Naturelle and Mocha
RCMA Creme Foundation

Because they are matte colours they are a little hard to work with but nothing a little patience and some serious blending can't fix. You need to make sure that your base [be it eyeliner pencil, paintpot or just plain primer] is very well blended. These eyeshadows will stick to just about any non-smooth surface and highlight it on your eyeshadow.

This is is husby "kidnapping" moi to see Transformers 2! He looks all serious. Concentrating on getting us there on time!

And that ladies is it. How do I like this palette? I love it. For it's first use it has outperformed my expectations but it could also just be the colours I used...who knows. I'ma work the rest of the colours this week and let you know. But the for the 3 colours I used from this palette today, it is worth the £4.88 it costs! GET IT!

Finally! A Make-up tutorial for you!

I gonna do a happy dance when I'm finished here! I actually managed to do a tutorial that uploaded and worked!!! The quality is ok. But that's something I will work on until I can afford an HD camera. I am just so happy I actually did it! So please take a look, leave comments and let me know what you think!
