Learning never ends.

I love to read. I never used to and I'm sure my mother thanks God everyday that I do now. I think when I was younger it was only because I didn't like studying unless I liked the topic. I was picky like that!

Anyhoo I got 2 lovely books to add to my growing library. Maybe I shouldn't say growing because there's plenty in it already but I've had my eye on these two for an age.

These two books encompass 2 things I like love a lot. Make-up and Jewellery. The first book is Scott Barnes make-up how to book called About Face and second book is Mastering Beadwork by Carol Huber Cypher. I've had a quick look in book and now I'm reading the bead work book in depth now. I can't wait to try the projects in it! I'm thinking of making myself some shoulder-duster earrings. Exciting times. I love Scott Barnes and the work he does. I read a little something in his book that led me to believe that this dude could be a Christian as well. It's nice to see other believes doing what you strive for without being shady about it.

Of course I shall be doing indepth reviews of the two in no time!

It's Friday people! OH HAPPY DAY!

Stay Blessed!

"Render unto Caesar..."

One of my other hobbies is jewellery making. I've been dabbling in handmade jewellery longer than I have been involved with make-up. I love them both but its hard to balance out time to both so inevitably one suffers when one thrives. I wanted to share a wrist cuff I'm currently working on called "Render unto Caesar..."

It all started with a button I found whilst I was doing my fashion degree (which I haven't finished but certainly want to! Long story...) It's of a Roman Centurion and I liked it. I'm reminded me of what Jesus says in Matthew 22:21 and I've always tried to create contemporary work related to my faith. It kinda snowballed from there:)

I took the shank off the back of the butto, filed it down and glued it to some Lacy's Stiff Stuff and started embroidering around it. I'm using a selection of beads including some Toho seed beads which I love. I've stopped trying to count how many hours I've spent on this but I do know that when I'm done, it will have been worth it.

If you look to the left of the cuff you'll notice some pencil lines and stacks of holes in them. Well there used to be beads in there. I'd put something down but it just didn't look right so I took it off. I've been trying to teach myself to allow myself to make mistakes in my work but better yet, correct them. I don't have to live with something I don't like. I have an idea in my head for where this will go. I'll update you when it's done!
