uMakoti.

uMakoti:- a zulu term that means young Bride; newly married woman.

This lady was definitely a lovely Makoti. Ladies I present to you my lovely friend Catherine. She got married last december to a lovely Scot and her dress was gorgeous. Custom made fabulousness!

Makoti was very happy on her day. Very relaxed and a natural in front of the camera.

She has this lovely thick hair which she styled herself! She wanted to keep her look as natual as possible and keep her freckles showing through which I thought was totally fabulous!

I'll be honest I do not remember everything we used but I do know that we did use a Berry coloured lipstick. I suspect her blush was Myfacecosmetics and her eyeshadow was a combination of Barry M gold and dark brown somewhere. Her eyeliner was GOSH dark brown which did not move! Praise God! The rest? I forget. Forgive me!

Her photographer was very good. A gentleman called Peter Adamson. If you're a bride based in Scotland, especially near St Andrews, drop this guy an email [peter.g.adamson@btinternet.com.] I'm sure he could certainly help you out.

And there you have it! A beautiful Scottish Makoti :)

A Wedding Trial for a Pretty Bride.

Hi Lovlies,

I didn't realise until the other day that I have not updated this here blog of mine for a while. I think I went through a burn out these last two weeks and I'm only just coming out of it now! I've been busy with work and weddings and just trying to get my life back in order. Not exactly sure where it all went kaput but yes I think I'm back to regular programming!

So wedding season is coming to an end. Kinda. Sorta. There just won't be as many wedding through winter as they are in summer. I was busy with a few this year and I wanted to share the trial pictures of a particularly lovely bride I did last weekend. This lovely young lady is a stunner. Her dress was GORGEOUS, everything about her individual style just left such an impression with me. I wanted to show you her trial pictures. I'm making arrangements to get a hold of some professional pictures soon.

She wanted to look like "a more glamourous version of her natural self". I think we achieved that goal and I, for one, was happy with the outcome. Now I know someone is going to want to know what I used on her....I confess I can't remember it all but but I'll do my best to remember!

Mini Drugstore Boodle

I was in town the other day and picked up a few things that caught my eye. It was weird cause there weren't many things that caught my attention that day. I'm starting to find that I prefer shopping online more than in store. Which is not good cause I like to see, feel and swatch products first but given where I live its a little hard to do that. That aside, I picked these little goodies up...

I walked into Primark. And only walked out with was this pretty clutch. I think it's been around for a while but somehow I had never really taken notice of it. It's nice and big. It's a sexy colour and it cost me £3.00. Nuff said!

Any one tried Myfacecosmetics yet? They are stocked in Boots. A new brand by Charlotte Tilbury. Not everything is brilliant but I do love their medium/dark blushes. I have one already called "Her name is Rio" and every single time I use that blush someone asks what I'm wearing. It is my go to blush. Might need to get my first back up now that I think about it! Anyway I bought "Night fever" which is this rich coral-ly/red colour. Seriously. It is divine. Gonna do a FOTD with it soon.

Boots recently reformulated its No17 eyeshadows. I have a few already and they work pretty well over a base. That blue colour you see there called "Regal" fueled it all. I swatched it in store and it was instant love. Bought the Silver glitter eyeshadow called "Night Sky" cause it was pretty and could work well when I do a Deep navy blue smokey eye. Tried a quick 2 min look and this is what it looks like on:-

*I got no foundation on. I quickly filled in my brows and slapped the colour on my lids over some UDPP*

Pictures are clickable if you dare....

Partially naturelle. Is there such a thing?!

The silver has a taupe-y shade to it. Nice and glittery and soft. Gotta watch the payoff. The blue eyeshadow on the other hand is physically hard man! It acts almost like an over baked eyeshadow. Took forever for me to get a decent amount brush. Then I had to pack it on to get the colour payoff I wanted. The colour was exactly how I imagined it. [after pack-age] It's absolutely beautiful!!!

BUT. It.creased.on.me.

Over UDPP.

What the ja-funk?!!?

I know it's past midnight but this is serious. Either is a pretty poo eyeshadow or my eyesight is getting bad.... I'm secretly gutted! It's such a pretty colour! Funny thing is hubby pointed out that I have a pretty similar colour in my Barry M collection. I think it's called Midnight. I'm going to have to pull it out and see how that works for me instead....

Must run. My bed is calling my name!!!!

UK - US Secret Santa Make-up swap and a Mini-Haul

Hey guys, how you doing today?

First of all can I just say Thank to all 57 of you :D 57 readers, for me, is pretty darn cool. I do appreciate you taking the time to read my beauty blog and I hope you continue to like what I put out there :)

Well I've been sitting here trying to find a place where I could do a make-up swap. However all the ones I found were already closed. They are like secret underground sects or something!!! If there is one running somewhere that I've missed please please please drop me a line.

Before I go and post something on Specktra I wanted to ask you guys if anyone would be interested in doing a drug haul make-up swap with me or anyone else who follows on this blog.

I am offering to swap stuff like this :D

An example of the goodies I can get for you :)

Sleek [Palettes, lipstick, bronzers, eyedusts]
Stargazer [Lipglosses and eye dusts]
Barry M [lip paint, Nail varnish and Dazzle dusts]
GOSH [Waterproof eyeshadow, lipgloss, eyeliner, make-up brushes]
Collection 2000 [Dazzle me dusts]
Boots no 17 [Eyeshadow/gloss/lipstick]
Myfacecosmetics [blush/lipstick]
Eyelure Eyelashes
Go Cosmetics

In exchange for:-

NYX [lipgloss/lipstick/eyeshadow/blush]
Jesse's girl [eyeshadow]
L'oreal HIP [paints/duos/]
Certain Revlon products [baked bronzers]
Loew Cornell brushes [mop head]
Cover Girl
Red Cherry Lashes
Sonia Kashuk etc

If you're interested please drop me a comment and we can arrange something :) Christmas in July!!!!! If there are several people wanting a piece of the action I am willing to organise a full on swap fest for errrrrrbadi and if you're from another country even better we can more than accomodate you too!!!

Anyhoo a couple days ago I was in Super [make-up] Drug and picked up 3 GOSH items:-

Light 'N Shine Lip Glaze in no 05 £8.32
Effect Powder in Holographic Silver £5.39
Effect Powder in Plummy F£ee :) [Buy 3 for 2]

I bought the GOSH Lipglaze because it is a pretty good dupe for MAC Dazzleglass Funtabulous. It's just a little less pigmented but pretty much gives you the same effect. Feels lush on the lips, none sticky and last for a good while.

I have some random crazy idea in my head for the Holographic glitter. If I can pull it off then it was so worth the purchase and as for Plummy, its just a lovely colour to get for free!

Side note *My lips on Macro mode are just huge :p*

GOSH Lipglaze in no 5 on its own [I apologise for the poor shots. It's hard to photograph lipgloss!]

Sleek Amethyst Lipstick with GOSH Lipglaze no 5 over the top of it.
Hotness.
