I'm Nakie ;)

A little while ago I purchased some Naked Cosmetic Pigments from one of Goss's epic blog sales. I had seen them at IMATS but didn't really want to invest my money in them then. So when then came up in Goss's sale I thought why not?

A few of these pigments are duo-chromes. I like them and they work well for fun, bright looks. The pigments themselves look very similar but once you swatch them you can start to see the difference.

All swatched over MAC Slick Black GPS

Some of the colours are very close on initial application (Forgive me because I'm too lazy to name them all right now. If you really wanna know, drop me a comment) However, with that being said, these pigments change colour the more you work them into their chosen base. The lighter colours all looked the same when I first swatched them but after a while they gradually changed into unique colours. I thinking of getting some Fyrinnae Epoxy to work with these pigments because they are very sparkly. I'm not going to promise a FOTD with these because I've promised so many already!!!!! I am well behind! But if I do one, bonus!

Even though I haven't used them on my eyes yet, I am inclined to say my curiosity has been satisfied. I doubt I'll be buying any more of these again. There are pigments that I own that would easily be duplicates of these pigments. They are still pretty though!

Happy Sunday xxx

Review: Barry M no 98 "Petrol Black"

One of the prettiest pigments I own but a total heifer to take a picture of with my camera. Me thinks I need a new one. A camera that is. I've worn this eyeshadow a fair few times to see how it works because it once got a lot of air time for how fabulous it is and I just needed to use it.

Here's the thing: It's a good eyeshadow overall. However when used dry the sparkles that you see in the pot do fade after a few hours. I can't tell you where they go. I'll just put it down to normal fade. I have no scientific explanation for it. When you use it wet you do not get the sparkle that you would get if you used it dry. Instead it give a gorgeous duochrome look that is black based with green, purple and blue showing through quite strongly. It more than deserves the name "Petrol Black". Used with water this pigment doesn't hold up as well. Use a good mixing medium and it will not budge. Mehron mixing medium (Review still coming! Promise!) does wonders with this pigment. From a distance this colour isn't anything special. Up close and personal it will make a few people gasp. It's one of those pigments that is only really appreciated by someone with an attentive eye.

The price is more than reasonable for this pigment. Barry M retails for £4.50 in Superdrug and Boots so it's easily available to most. Catch these stores on a good day and you'll bag yourself a bargin in a BOGO or some such promotion.

 No smiles...Lipstick on my teeth!

Items used:

Bobbi Brown Oil free foundation SPF 15 in Almond (I am still not feeling this. Review galore)

Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Cheekcolour in Rosy Glow (Another item I have thoughts on)

Barry M no 98 "Petrol Black"

Anastasia Brow Express

MAC Greasepaint stick in Black

GOSH Waterproof eyeliner in Black Ink

Maybelline Colossal Mascara in Black

MAC Violetta lipstick

Barry M lipliner in no 11 (love this!)

MUFE HD Powder

Close up. Sparkly Sparkles. But no cigar after 3 hours.

Catch up

I know I've been away most of February. I do apologise. I say sorry a lot! I have no excuse other than to say that life gets in the way sometimes :) I'm stepping up a lot of things in my life this year and I have to work hard for what I am aiming for. Inevitably I don't have as much time for blogging as I normally do. I do hope you'll stick around for the time when I can blog and I hope you will still continue to enjoy what I put out there.

I've been wanting to do a review stint for a long while now and I think it's about to happen. So look out for it. I hope it doesn't become too boring for you all! I wanna focus on items that aspiring make-up artists might want to look into. This does not mean that if you're a regular consumer you can't use it, just adapt it to your needs.

And one last thing. A lot of hoo haa has been going on in the Bloggerverse about the article written by Sam Donald the make-up artist. I happened to read the comments on there tonight and noticed that someone said that I have not replied to an email/comment or question that they've sent me. (Or at least that is how I understood it). If you are that person and are reading this, please leave me a comment. I'd like the change to rectify the situation. I have done my best to answer all emails as best as I can. I don't want my readers to feel like I am unapproachable for whatever reason. I want to do my best and if I have inadventently ignored you by mistake I would like to rectify that situation.

Stay blessed lovelies. The weekend if nigh!!!! xxx

Could this be MAC Copper Sparkle?!

A couple of months back a friend of mine gave me a sample of a pigment she had from Mac. She told me what the name was at the time, however I couldn't for the life of me, remember what it was when I used it the other day.

So! Off to Google I went and typed in "Mac Copper pigment". The pictures that came up all seemed to point to MAC Copper Sparkle pigment. Does anyone own this or use this? The texture is very different. Quite chunky but works extremely well with a mixing medium. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Onto the FOTD! you will notice ladies and gents, that I am wearing falsies again *do a happy dance!* I have to admit, it is getting easier each time, but for once, I am happy to leave the dramatic lashes alone. On myself , I prefer the subtle ones for now. [How long do you think this is going to last for?! Lol!]

I was having fun with this look. I threw on some rhinestones because I've never tried them on myself and I wanted to see what it would look like. It is very much a glamorised Xhosa inspired look. Incase you're wondering, Xhosa women, who originate from Southern Africa, wear facial make-up to denote things like their marital status and such. I think its totally beautiful. Perhaps I'll do a proper Xhosa look one of these days for you guys.

Can you see my bling bling *sparkle sparkle* oh yeah!!!!

And right there you can see those falsies. I admit I do still find it a challenge to place them closer to the lash line but I will conquer these! Just you watch this space!

Sleek Haul

Hi ladies and gents. Hows the weather where you are? Almost didn't get to work today with the water swishing about. Aqua gliding down the A19 was fun.....

So yesterday my ebay Sleek haul arrived. Happy days! Y'all know I love a bit of Sleeeeek. So here's the stash.

2 Face and Body Highlighters in "Gold Digga" and "Peach Shimmer"

4 Pigments in Sunfest, Zing, Bronze, Silver

1 Sheer Cover Blush in Coral

Grand total of £19 including shipping.

I didn't realise until I opened these pigments that Sleek did matte pigments. A pleasant suprise!!! Sunfest [the yellow one] and Zing [dark orange one] are matte shades. I look forward to being able to play with these sometime. The shimmer blocks look good too. Haven't had a chance to play with them but I'm expecting them to be lovely :)

Swatches for you:-

Left to right:- Sunfest, Bronze, Zing, Silver and top right hand corner is Coral blush. And I quick note about Sleek's sheer tone blushes. I have to say they are not sheer at all. And it aint a bad thing. But on me, they are VERY pigmented. I love them to bits! I think I have them all now. Now to collect all their pigments.....

Have a good one dudes! Stay Blessed!

Mrs JOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNEEEEESSSSSSSSS!

[it is indeed a happy day, great day to be ALIVE! :d]
